The Mobile Climate Control facility currently being built in Brampton, Ontario is going to be massive. Not just physically, clocking in at 260,000 square feet, and not just economically, creating over 550 new jobs. The biggest and most exciting aspect of our new facility is the HVAC manufacturing advancements that we’re implementing, including the addition of a Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) aluminum furnace. This state-of-the-art investment significantly enhances MCC’s production capabilities and enables us to deliver HVAC systems that are higher-quality, more reliable, and more sustainable.

Pushing the boundaries of performance and precision in the products we produce for the sake of our customers has always been a huge driver for MCC. Our customers operate in extreme environments like mining, transit, defense, and agriculture, where people rely on them to consistently get the job done—and get it done right. We hold our HVAC systems to the same standard, and investments in innovative engineering technology ensures we can continue to deliver excellence at every turn.

What Our New Furnace Means for You

So while this new furnace will be doing wonders on our factory floor, what does this mean for the products you're purchasing from MCC?

  • Longer-lasting systems with stronger, more uniform joints
  • Better performance in extreme conditions, from underground mines to sub-zero rural routes
  • Fewer maintenance issues thanks to reduced variability in component construction
  • Higher efficiency supporting vehicle-level performance goals

We understand the necessity for the systems we put in your vehicles to be of the highest quality. When operating any kind of machinery, the last thing you want is it failing at a crucial moment. Through the manufacturing capabilities provided to us by our new furnace, it means HVAC systems that won’t let you down.

What is Brazing?

To understand the significant impact that our new furnace is going to have on our production ability, it might help to know what exactly it does. Brazing is a common practice in HVAC manufacturing for joining two or more pieces of metal together. This is done by melting down another metal, one with a lower melting point than the metals being joined together, that will flow into the gaps between the other metals. Once this filler metal cools and hardens, the pieces become connected.

Brazing is a key part of connecting pipes in HVAC systems. That’s why the quality and repeatability of brazing matter so much. And it’s exactly where our modern furnace makes all the difference.

Investment and Innovation in Controlled Atmosphere Brazing

The addition of a Controlled Atmosphere Brazing (CAB) aluminum furnace expands our manufacturing capabilities and strengthens our HVAC solutions across a wide range of applications. This technology enables engineered and customized solutions, including evaporator- and condenser-type heat exchangers, for segments such as off-road, bus, heavy duty, critical services, construction, agriculture, defence, forestry, and more.

Unlike traditional manual brazing, the CAB furnace uses continuous-flow brazing with advanced process controls to deliver consistent, repeatable results at scale. Its computerized control system allows each brazing cycle to be tailored to specific product designs, performance criteria, and quality requirements. Inline automation supports both brazing and fluxing operations, ensuring uniformity across every component.

The furnace is supported by fully integrated peripheral systems, including automated load-handling, inter-operation cleaning, flux application, and emissions-reduction technology. Together, these capabilities allow us to deliver condenser and evaporator heat exchangers that meet USMCA qualification requirements, without compromising quality or performance.

Built for Sustainability and Safety

Sustainability is a key consideration in all of MCC’s investments. The new CAB furnace is fully electric, contains no combustible sources, and uses a non-corrosive flux, supporting a safer, cleaner manufacturing environment. These features align with MCC’s corporate sustainability commitments and the VBG Group’s broader initiatives in support of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, as well as MCC’s internal environmental targets.

By improving energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and minimizing material waste, the new furnace helps us manufacture HVAC systems that are not only higher in quality, but also more environmentally responsible.
