Climate Chambers
Climate Chamber Testing Facility in York, PA, USA
MCC’s climate chamber in York, Pennsylvania, USA supports full vehicle and component-level testing under controlled environmental conditions. The facility is designed to help manufacturers evaluate HVAC performance, energy use, airflow, safety-related functions, and overall thermal behavior across both cold and hot operating conditions.
With a testing range from –40°F to +131°F, controlled humidity, sun load simulation, and support for a broad voltage range, the chamber can be used to validate systems and components before field deployment.
Facility Overview
The climate chamber is built for testing complete vehicles as well as individual components. It enables repeatable testing in controlled conditions, supporting development, validation, troubleshooting, and comparison of system performance. It is located at MCC´s sister brand BCC with extra capabilities for busses.

Why Controlled Climate Testing Matters
Testing in a controlled environment helps engineering teams evaluate performance under repeatable conditions. This can support both early development work and later-stage validation by making it easier to compare results, identify issues, and verify requirements.
Typical benefits include:
- Validation in both hot and cold climate conditions
- Improved confidence in heating, cooling, defrost, and defog performance
- Better understanding of cabin airflow and thermal comfort
- Support for energy efficiency and power optimization
- Reduced dependence on seasonal or location-specific field testing
- Faster iteration during development and troubleshooting
Vehicle Segments and Applications
The facility can support a range of applications, including:
- Buses and coaches
- Commercial vehicles
- Electric vehicles
- Specialty vehicles
- Off-road and industrial vehicle applications
