New major order for MCC

MCC will supply the heater and air conditioning roof unit on the Daimler Sprinter Minibus in the USA. This application was supported with an engineering evaluation unit installed and tested in the climate chamber at MCC Toronto, Canada as well as supported with a second evaluation unit installation at the Daimler Bus North America facility in Greensboro, USA. After these two successful installations, a 13 unit initial production order was received and completed on August 7th with expedited deliveries as requested by Daimler bus. MCC completed the order within three weeks significantly quicker than the quoted lead time.

Production of these units underwent a thorough manufacturing and quality assurance process and all units were received with no concerns. Daimler bus recognized the quality initiatives as well as the robust design and assembly actions taken to ensure the quality delivery. MCC supported our customer during their initial installation operations at the Daimler Bus facility by providing Application and Electrical Engineering support to ensure training and proper installation and function. MCC and Daimler bus are fully partnered in providing a successful product for the end user and both organizations’ engineering and sales departments are working closely together with structured design reviews. As a result Daimler Bus is able to provide an integrated heater and air conditioning unit for the roof of the vehicle with minimal intrusion into the cabin area thus freeing more useful space for other load carrying needs. This strategy and installation provided Daimler Bus with a significant assembly cost saving and minimized risk of assembly defects. MCC is currently production ready to supply 10 units per week to meet Daimler Bus production requirements and can quickly increase production as required.
