CFD – solving problems in the real world

Design challenges like balancing airflow without increasing pressure loss, noise reduction, and including the detailed effects of blowers, fans, and heat exchangers are easy to answer in a CFD analysis, explains Eric Weiss Global VP of Product Development.

CFD allows you to reliably simulate and optimize the design, placement, and performance of critical components like ducts, valves, blowers, fans, pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers, all while in the virtual prototype environment.

Hence time can be spent more on making an optimized design rather than worrying about the details of building rounds of physical prototypes. Design variation can be made quickly in the CAD system and analyzed in CFD which saves both valuable lead time in the design process and total cost for product development.
